Hertfordshire County Council will be highlighting the exceptional care work taking place across the county with a week of celebrations, events and activities. Herts Good Care Week will be taking place from 16-25 June; this is an opportunity to find out more about the great benefits available to those working in care and to encourage more people to consider a rewarding career in the sector.
Herts Good Care Week is organised in partnership with Hertfordshire Care Providers’ Association (HCPA) who will be organising three, free to attend evening taster sessions at their training centre in Welwyn Garden City. The taster sessions will provide people who are interested in the industry and want to find out more about what’s involved the chance to ask any questions and get some first-hand experience of what it would be like to work in a care setting.
Frances Heathcote, Assistant Director of Commissioning at Hertfordshire County Council, said: “These taster training sessions and all of the events and activities taking place during Herts Good Care Week are the perfect opportunity to find out more about a career in the care industry. Whether you’re a school leaver looking to progress and gain up to degree level qualifications while in employment or you are interested in part time hours to accommodate childcare commitments, there are lots of lots of flexible positions with providers across the county.”
