Music in the Park – running from 2pm to 5.30pm this Sunday – will not only offer great live music but will also help raise money for Peace Hospice Care and the Watford Renal Unit at Watford General Hospital. The band ‘After Midnite Duo’ will be performing classic swinging 60s music from the bandstand during this toe-tapping event and there will also be a Michael Jackson tribute artist signing some of the artist’s top hits. And if that wasn’t enough to lure you in, Steven’s funfair will be in the park – so why not make a day of it?
There’s plenty more to come during our Big Bandstand programme of summer-time music – which will run right up until late September. Every Sunday afternoon, we’ll have a different performance at the historic bandstand between 2pm and 4pm. There will be various weekday performances too, giving you the perfect place to sit outside in the sun and take in some music during your lunch break. You can view the full list of Big Bandstand acts on our Watford Big Events website.
The Voyageurs Ambassadors of Music USA will be sending bands from 15 different American states to perform for us across a series of dates. We’ll be marking the summer solstice on Wednesday 21 June, from 6pm to 8pm, with Make Music Day UK, where Sca and mod covers band ‘The Iconics’ will play. And our popular Big JiveSwing Festival will return to the bandstand between 1pm and 6pm on Sunday 30 July for a fantastic music and dance extravaganza.
